ABOUT ME

Ahoj, I’m happy that you found your way here! I’m Lien, a passionate family photographer and globetrotter with roots in Vietnam, China, and India. Originally from Berlin, I now live in Prague with my family.

I discovered my love for photography during my semester abroad in China (around 15 years ago) and have since continuously improved my skills, specializing in family photography.

As a mother of two children, I know from my personal experience how quickly time flies and how important it is to capture precious moments with the family. Photos are more than just images to me – they are treasures that preserve memories for eternity and tell stories.

Through my heartfelt project Maifamilyphotography (by the way, Mai is the middle name of my eldest daughter and means cherry blossom), I aim to help families preserve their unique moments and create unforgettable memories. My photo sessions are characterized by naturalness and authenticity, aiming to create unforgettable memories that last a lifetime.

01 IMAGE STYLE

My photographic style is characterized by the use of natural colors. I appreciate the magic of Black&White shots and thus process some of my photos in this way to eventually achieve a special expressiveness. In my work, I attach great importance to working exclusively with daylight in order to preserve the natural atmosphere. As a result you get unique photo shots that reflect the beauty of your family life in its true form.

02 TYPE OF PHOTOGRAPHY

I document your family life primarily in the form of natural and authentic moments to capture the unique facets of your family life. Therefore, I capture the colorful real family life, the diversity of your emotions and connections without heavily interfering in the proceedings. Seeing that, my aim is actually to create spontaneous and genuine photo shots that reflect the special bonds and emotions within the family. During the photo shoot, I will be happy to give you tips and suggestions if desired. At the end of each session I also offer gently guided family portraits as I know how important these memories are for grandparents and the family album ;).

03 CALM, EASY-GOING & OPEN-MINDED

Through my calm and easy-going manner, I am able to create a relaxed atmosphere during the photo session. It’s important to me on not interrupting the natural flow of events in order to avoid stiff and posed photo shots. So, you can just be you and maybe even forget for a tiny moment that I am photographing you. Hence, this allows me to capture the unique moments and the true connection of your family – because that’s what makes you as a family.

04 MOM and auntie myself

As a mom and aunt of a total of nine young children, I know the challenge of motivating children for photo sessions. From my own experience, I know that many kids are not really thrilled to pose in front of the camera. With me, children can be themselves. As it is important to me to capture the natural emotions of children – whether it’s playing and goofing around, laughing at the breakfast table, running around on the playground, having a picnic in nature, or cuddling up for reading time. These authentic moments are what we want to capture and look back on in the future. They show the uniquneness of our family and evoke certain feelings in us.
